Here's a look at what's been going on in class the past few weeks:
Our class pictures from our Field Trip to Fernbank:
Math: We've been learning all about arrays and repeated addition! Students are able to partition or divide a rectangle to show an array and write a repeated addition sentence for a given array!
Reading: We've been working on reading informational, or nonfiction, text. We've been working hard this week on finding the main idea and supporting details. Last week, we read two books about bats (one fiction vs. one nonfiction) and we compared/contrasted the two books.
Word Study: We've been working on the EE and EA vowel teams this week! We learned that many of these words are homophones and that to correctly spell the word we need a picture or sentence to give us the meaning for the word in context.
We're so busy learning and growing over the last few weeks of second grade!
Love,
Mrs. Kidd
